The Town of Springerville, Community Services Center is seeking a part time, temporary cook.

The position will begin on November 23, 2020 and end on February 11, 2021. $12.00 - $14.00/hour DOE

POSITION SUMMARY
The Head Cook is responsible for the overall preparation and delivery of all meals prepared at the senior center. In addition, he/she assures proper cleaning of the kitchen facility. This position is responsible for participating in the preparation and cooking of sanitary and nutritious meals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Prepares meals for seniors and Head Start. Converts small scale recipes for quantity cooking. Coordinates work responsibilities with kitchen aides to ensure that meals are prepared and delivered in a timely manner and in accordance with proper methods of sanitation.

•Coordinates the ordering and delivery of food and kitchen supplies necessary to perform cleaning and meal preparations;

•Ensures that all food and leftovers are properly store and that equipment in the kitchen and dining room areas are turned off and secured.

•Provides information to Meals on Wheels Drivers with regard to the delivery of food, route instruction, the importance of disseminating and collecting donation envelopes and how to perform welfare checks on participants.

•Coordinates with the director regarding first-time home delivered meals clients, assuring that new clients are provided a welcome packet. Communicates with the director to ensure the proper maintenance of delivery vehicles, machinery, equipment and supplies.

•Assures proper janitorial services are provided for all areas of the senior center including maintenance of the grease trap.

•Ensures the proper sanitation of dining room tables and equipment, towels, tablecloths and napkins.
