Community Development

The Community Development Department incorporates both the Planning and Zoning Department and the Building Department. The purpose of the Community Development Department is to coordinate and administer the community plans through a proactive approach. The Community Development Department assists the community in many different ways, such as:

  • Process Zoning Permits and Subdivision Applications
  • Provide information concerning zoning districts
  • Supply street addresses
  • Issue Building Permits
  • Perform building inspections

About the Department

The Building Department regulates the construction, demolition, and occupancy of all buildings within the Town of Springerville. The primary mission of the Building Department is to provide life safety and a better quality of living for the residents of the Town.

Department Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the staff include the following:

  • Issuing permits for the construction, repair, or alteration of all buildings and structures
  • Overseeing plan reviews
  • Conducting inspections

Building Codes and Standards

The Town of Springerville has adopted the 2015 edition of the INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL BUILDING CODE, INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE, INTERNATIONAL MECHANICAL CODE, INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING CODE, INTERNATIONAL GREEN BUILDING CODE AND THE 2014 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE
